Migrate from Fresha

Move from Fresha to PeakSpitz, safely.

Moving off Fresha should feel like restoring from a backup, not a leap of faith. Your booking & salon tool data is read into a PeakSpitz environment of your own, checked against your real numbers, and run in parallel — while Fresha keeps running, untouched, the whole time. Here is exactly how, step by step.

Fresha's headline strength is real: it dropped the monthly subscription altogether, giving you a booking calendar, client records and POS for free and earning instead through payments and its consumer marketplace. For a new salon that model is hard to argue with. Teams typically move on when the same model works against them — the percentage on payments and the fees on marketplace-sourced new clients scale with revenue, and a booking-first tool still leaves accounting, VAT, stock and your own storefront in separate places. PeakSpitz brings those into one system with unlimited users and real accounting with VAT built in.

The safe way to leave Fresha

Work down the list at your own pace. Nothing here is irreversible, and your current system stays live throughout.

  1. 1

Before you touch anything — get a backup you own

Get a copy of your data out of Fresha that you control — a file held on your side, not just a setting inside the system. Confirm in your contract that you have the right to export, and note any renewal, notice or lock-in dates so the timing stays on your terms.

  2. 2

    Export your data

Pull clients, appointments, services and stock out of Fresha in the most complete format it offers — CSV, spreadsheet, or an account/API export. Take the history too, not just open items: past records, documents and contacts are worth keeping.

  3. 3

    Send us a sample

Before you commit, send us a representative slice — a handful of customers, a few recent orders or bookings, part of your catalogue. We map it into PeakSpitz and show you the restored result, so you see exactly how your booking & salon tool data lands before you move the rest.

  4. 4

    See what maps to what

We line Fresha up against PeakSpitz: clients, appointments, services and stock become customers, catalogue, orders, documents and ledgers in one joined-up system. Anything without an obvious home is flagged early, not discovered late.

  5. 5

    Bring it in — a read-only restore

Your data is read into a fresh, isolated PeakSpitz environment of your own. Nothing inside Fresha is touched, changed or switched off — it keeps running exactly as it is.

  6. 6

    Verify against your numbers

Before you trust it, reconcile the totals — balances, counts, tax and revenue — against what Fresha shows today. The numbers have to match before anything goes live.

  7. 7

    Run both in parallel

Keep Fresha live and run PeakSpitz alongside it for as long as you like. Compare like for like, move one area across first, and build trust before you depend on it. No big-bang cutover, and no deadline from us.

  8. 8

Cross over and decommission — on your terms

Switch over only when PeakSpitz has earned it. Keep your Fresha export archived as a safety net, and close the old subscription when you are ready — not a moment before.

What to watch when leaving Fresha

  • Your Fresha marketplace profile and its reviews are a separate consumer channel from the management software. Moving your back office to PeakSpitz doesn't move that listing — decide in advance whether new-client discovery keeps running on Fresha's marketplace while repeat bookings flow through your own PeakSpitz storefront.

  • Card details saved for memberships and pay-by-card-on-file live with the payment layer, not in an export. Those tokens do not transfer; members re-authorise the recurring charge on the new system, so schedule a re-consent window before the first billing date.

  • Prepaid package sessions and any loyalty balances are a cutover decision, not an automatic import. Reconcile outstanding sessions to a cut-off date, then load them as opening balances so nobody loses a paid-for treatment.

  • No-show flags, cancellation notes and deposit history rarely export cleanly. Keep the Fresha account read-only as an archive for a season rather than forcing that history into the new records.

Common questions about leaving Fresha

If Fresha is free, why would moving save money?

Fresha's software being free is genuine and worth crediting. The cost is variable — it sits in the payment percentage and marketplace fees that grow with your takings. PeakSpitz charges for the platform, not a slice of each transaction, and includes accounting, VAT, inventory and a storefront you'd otherwise run as separate tools.

Do we lose the bookings that come from Fresha's marketplace?

Not unless you close the listing. The marketplace is an acquisition channel; you can keep it live for discovery while running day-to-day operations, repeat bookings and payments in PeakSpitz. Many salons wind the marketplace down gradually as their own storefront takes over.

How long until we're running on PeakSpitz?

Most businesses are live in about a week without consultants. Client list, services and stock import first; memberships and passes are re-set with fresh billing consent, which is the step that usually sets the go-live date.
